Bio: Jean Baker, a New Hampshire native, joined Long and Foster in December, 2004 after long careers in cable television and transportation. Being involved in the community through public service and volunteerism, Jean knew she could “sell” Elizabeth City and this career path was the perfect vehicle to promote the area while finding the perfect home for both natives and newcomers to Elizabeth City. She has earned the ABR, SFR, and GREEN designations. She is a 7 term City Councilwoman for the City of Elizabeth City, on the Board of Director’s for Arts of the Albemarle, The Elizabeth City – Pasquotank County Economic Development Commission, was Chairperson for the Elizabeth City – Pasquotank County Tourism Development Association, and the Albemarle Area Association of Realtors, is heavily involved in the Elizabeth City Historic Neighborhood Association, and is chairwoman of its annual Ghost Walk. She is a former director and Chairwoman of the Elizabeth City Area Chamber of Commerce, chaired the Mayor’s Task Force for Fair Housing for the City of Elizabeth City and served on Boards for Kids First, Food Bank of the Albemarle, and was named a Woman of Distinction in Elizabeth City in 2011.
